Fabrication & Installation of a steel footbridge from the Longford County Council Carpark to the Riverside Park on the north bank of the Camlin River at Great Water Street, Longford.

The bridge is a structural steel framed structure spanning the river with aluminium decking and steel parapets & railings. Lighting was incorporated into the bridge parapet and connected to chambers & ducting installed to extend the existing public lighting network. The railings were extended along the ramps and bank of the river on both sides.

The works involved construction the insitu RC bank seats for the bridge, installation of gabions along the bankinsitu RC retaining walls to construct the ramps from existing ground levels to the bridge, installation of the bridge structure, decking & associated railings and laying of brick paving to footpath & ramps to the bridge.

Ancillary works included construction & removal of sheet piled cofferdams to construct the bank seats, tree felling, resurfacing of a section of the council carpark, drainage, ducting, additional street lighting, hard & soft landscaping, and the installation of signage & bollards.
