Sport Ireland – Environmental Chamber

An Environmental Chamber is for high performance athletes and is able to simulate different climatic conditions incl heat humidity and altitude. 

This project involved the Design & Build of a Full Environmental Chamber at the Sport Ireland National Sport Campus, Dublin. The chamber (external dimensions 6,850mm × 4,925mm × 3,050mm) simulates temperatures from -20°C to +40°C, humidity between 40–90% rH, and altitudes up to 5,000 metres for athlete training. The system includes three condensers and evaporators, a 15kW air compressor with desiccant dryer, a steam humidifier, duct heaters, fans, a hypoxic unit, and a touchscreen control panel with BMS integration and remote access. The installation programme ran from September to November 2023, covering design,  construction and final commissioning with staff training. As Main Contractor we were responsible for site preparation, electrical containment, drainage, fire-stopped cable penetrations and cranage for roof plant.
